Identity before attribution
Bar details and firm email domains are checked first, followed by a known-channel verification before any public role is assigned.
This contribution portal records first-person answers, supporting sources, identity details, and written approval in one reviewable packet. Nothing is attributed or published until Hurt Advice verifies the contributor and every material claim.
Bar details and firm email domains are checked first, followed by a known-channel verification before any public role is assigned.
Legal, procedural, credential, statistical, and time-sensitive statements must point to authoritative public evidence.
A typed signature records permission to review the material. Final authorship, quotations, and review credit remain separately controlled.
Before you contribute
Hurt Advice accepts first-person legal commentary only through a documented review process. The goal is to help readers understand a California injury question, not to publish promotional claims or imply that Hurt Advice is the contributor's law firm.
Staff compares the contributor's name, license details, firm affiliation, and contact channel with public records and an established firm domain. Source links are opened and checked for the specific statement they support. A submission may be declined, shortened, or returned for clarification when the identity, source, or scope cannot be verified.
An approved answer may appear as an attributed quotation, interview excerpt, correction, or source-supported explanation. Author or reviewer credit is used only when the documented role supports it. Public attorney information links to the contributor's verified Hurt Advice profile and independent firm or license records where available.
Complete these checks before opening the form. They reduce follow-up questions and help the editorial team evaluate the contribution without overstating the contributor's role or the strength of a source.
1. Confirm the participating profile
Review the existing opportunity and verify that the name, firm, license number, and contact domain are current. New attorneys should begin with the partner information page rather than selecting another professional's record.
2. Gather the exact supporting sources
Save the publisher, document title, date, URL, and exact section supporting each material statement. The authors and reviewers page explains how editorial and professional roles are displayed publicly.
3. Remove confidential or identifying facts
Do not include a client's name, medical details, contact information, privileged communication, or recognizable case narrative unless the necessary permission to publish is documented. Review the attorney advertising disclosure before proposing promotional language.
4. State the requested role precisely
Identify whether the material is a quotation, interview answer, factual correction, authored explanation, or requested review. These roles are not interchangeable. For an opportunity that is not listed or a correction to an existing record, contact Hurt Advice before submitting.
Contribution record
Allow 20 to 35 minutes. Keep official sources open in another tab, and save a copy of longer answers before submitting.
Staff receives the structured record in the Hurt Advice dashboard and notification inbox. The contributor is verified through a known firm channel, sources are checked, the intended role is confirmed, and any edited draft returns for final approval before publication.
